If you happen to be at the school stop in the Library and see the new carpet! Over the summer PTO funds paid for carpet installation in the Library. We snapped a few pictures during the process and you can see that it was in need of replacement.

The new carpet gives the room a bright and cheery feel, perfect for starting off this year the right way!

Box Tops

Hey parents and friends of Wilson!
There is a great program out there that we are excited about. Albertson's and General Mills have teamed up to give our schools more chances to earn money. It is so important that as a community we support the businesses that support us and our children. Especially with all the education budget cuts recently, our PTO is working overtime to come up with funds. The good news is that this program takes NO SPENDING on your part! All you need to do is go to the Growing Local Learning website and sign up! They will ask for your email address and a few other easy questions, including your school. Then Wilson will get 5 FREE box tops for everyone that registers. I did this a month ago and love going back in and checking to see our schools status - so far we have earned $11.50. That might not seem like a lot to you but if you consider that not one person had to open their wallet and give us money, it's pretty amazing.

I know that it might seem that one .10 box top will not make or break anything. Let me tell you that the power is in the numbers! You might remember that we just finished up our big Box Top Competition last month, hundreds and hundreds of box tops were sent in. The most amazing part is that this year box tops has already given our school a check for $1,300. After the most recent box tops get tallied we expect to get another check for about $1,100! That is just wonderful - Mrs. Beardsley is in charge of the Box Top Program at our school and she works so hard - it's good to see it pay off!!! So, it is worth it to clip and save those box tops all summer long!

If you are looking to do a little grocery shopping check out Albertson's first - they offer some great Box Top friendly sales. You can even print up coupons on the Box Top Website and the Growing Local Learning Website.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Stop in and say thanks to your teacher this week! PTO has had a ton of helpful parents pitch in and put together some special surprises for our favorite school's teachers & staff!
On Sunday a group of volunteers showed up to glue and hang these awesome posters on the teacher's doors. Be sure to come in and check them all out - ask your child which one is their favorite!

PTO filled all the mailboxes with flowers to show our appreciation.

Today the teachers got a mini pinata invitation to a PTO sponsored lunch tomorrow!

Thanks in advance to all the parents who are sending in goodies for the lunch! We will take tons of pictures and post them later this week!
